Sarah Cherry, 12, disappeared on the afternoon of Jul. 6, 1988. She was abducted from a home where she had been babysitting. Two days later her bound body was found in the woods off a dirt road in Bowdoin, a few miles from the site of her abduction. She had been raped, stabbed and strangled with a scarf.
